In this webinar you will learn about Human Centered Design. HCD is a methodology developed by IDEO Inc., to explore and deploy needs and problems, where the user is central and intertwined in the process of design and development.
In approaching Social Entrepreneurship, Christel de Maeyer and Geert Stox look at current problems in the fields of social, cultural and environmental areas. Usually one has to deal with different stakeholders in these fields; all parties need to be involved at a certain point in the design and development process of possible solutions. The HCD methodology starts with the users and their specific needs. During this research other stakeholders also come into the picture as all parties need to be on the same page in order to make social entrepreneurship succeed!
In this webinar, they will explain the HCD methodology based on cases. One of the examples is ‘healthy food for people in need’. De Tinten is a service center in Belgium, Ghent, where refugees without papers, find help for their basic needs.
Christel De Maeyer has an international career in the Digital Media space for over 25 years. She holds a Masters degree in Communication Science, New Media and Society in Europe from VUB Brussels, where she researched wearable devices and behaviour change. In 2008 she got involved in the Persuasive Technology Lab at Stanford University, working on behaviour design in the area of Peace Innovation and wearable tech. She is a researcher and lector at Artevelde University College in Ghent, Belgium and PhD Candidate in the User Centred Engineering Group at Eindhoven University of Technology
Geert Stox is specialized in strategy, innovation and branding. With 25 years of experience in strategic and branding consultancy combined with setting up innovation projects all over the world, user analysis and psychological insight have become his main tool to create and implement relevant user solutions. He is a lector and researcher at Artevelde University College, Author of ‘Darwin on Networking’ (white paper), articles on the human system, branding, Darwinist brands, customer journeys, the open organisation and reputation management.
